One of the many great perks of summer in Wilmington is the chance to hear free outdoor concerts June through August. Last night dozens of families spread out their blankets, unfurled lawn chairs, and kicked back to relax at Rockford Park, which hosted their weekly summer concert featuring The Susquehanna Floods from Perryville, Maryland.
Visitors on July 31st were treated to a mix of rock, blues, jazz and funk and a lovely view of Rockford Tower at sunset. Some said they regularly make an evening of the Monday concerts at Rockford Park, bringing friends, frisbees and a nice picnic dinner. Others were first-timers who were in search of something new in their neighborhood.
There are two Monday night (6:30 – 8:30 pm) concerts remaining this season at Rockford Park – Aug 7 and 14. But there are several other free concerts at the Sugar Bowl Pavilion, Bellevue and other Wilmington State Parks. Click here for the complete schedule.
