Eighteen teams from the state’s most competitive and robust summer swim league will hit the pool at the Siegel JCC again this year to battle for North Wilmington bragging rights.
The North Brandywine Swim League’s (NBSL) annual end-of-season extravaganza will take place Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22 at the JCC Garden of Eden Road campus’ 6-lane outdoor pool. This is the second of three years the legendary invitational event will be hosted by the JCC, with more than 2,000 swimmers expected to compete.
JCC will run the concessions operations and partner with several local food trucks for additional food and drink options during the weekend meet.
Steph Kegelman, aquatics director at the JCC said the organization’s own swim team has experienced tremendous growth and they look forward to competing, as well as showcasing their home facility to attendees. “We are so proud to open up our campus to the local community,” said Kegelman.
The NBSL has deep roots in Brandywine Hundred; founded in 1961, the league has produced generations of national caliber and Olympic level swimmers (see this article on TSD).
