Local foodie and wine connoisseurs recently enjoyed an elegant evening filled with wine tastings and chocolate pairings at the unique home of local architect, Jim Nelson and his wife, Lorraine, who reside in Kennett Square. The couple welcomed guests to a wine and chocolate-themed fundraiser for the United Way of Southern Chester County.
The event on May 6th included three wineries, which served guests their finest vintages – Grace Winery, Galer Estate Vineyard and Winery, and Borderland Vineyard. Local Victory Brewing Company indulged non-wine drinking guests to craft beer.
Of course there was also an amazing lineup of sweet treats to tempt palettes, including delectables from Neuchatel Chocolates, Bakes by Jennifer Miller, and Dilly Dally Cakery, as well as Thomas Pagnini and Sarah Turick.
In addition to viewing the largest personal collection of world-renowned ceramicist, Victor Spinski, guests were able to bid on Silent Auction items – the bidding was fun but fierce at the end of the evening!
All-told the event generated $8,650 to support the 27 local programs funded by United Way of Southern Chester County.
