Wilmington Honors Veterans at Memorial Day Parade

Veterans who fought in the Korea, Vietnam and Gulf Wars were honored to take part in one of the oldest parades in Wilmington yesterday — the 149th annual Memorial Day Parade in Trolley Square. High school bands from Cab Calloway, Salesianum, and William Penn as well as politicians, civic and other non-profit groups marched in yesterday’s parade, handing out small flags and candy as young families and friends cheered and waved. Former attorney General Beau Biden was honored posthumously as the parade’s grand marshall.
