DCT Weaves a Perfect Tale in Rumpelstiltskin

A classic fairy tale gets a whimsical twist in the Delaware Childrens Theatre’s new production “Rumpelstiltskin and the Princess Who Bragged Too Much” through Sunday, May 29. Billed as Theatre for the Very Young, Rumpelstiltskin delights children with sparkling fairies, a mischievous troll and a young girl, Miranda, who wants to be a Princess. But first Miranda, who’s been bragging about her weaving ability, must spin straw into gold. Luckily, Miranda meets enchanted fairies called the Glow Sisters, who know a talented but temper tantrum-throwing troll with magical skills. It’s fun and also provides a good lesson on the downside of bragging and pretending to be something you’re not. Children are invited to dress up as princesses and princes. Tickets available now at www.dechildrenstheatre.org.
