Winterthur Bids Farewell to Costumes of Downton Abbey

Would be members of the British aristocracy enjoyed one last opportunity to transport themselves to Downton Abbey at Winterthur on Monday, the final day of a year-long exhibition. The last day of the historic Costumes of Downton Abbey exhibit featured a special lecture and an afternoon tea. An unfortunate casualty of the first season, a nattily attired gent in tuxedo (he went down at sea, poor man, but he did it in style), posed for TSD along with others savoring a last glimpse of some of the exquisite period costumes that leading characters wore on the hugely popular television series. The afternoon tea included English delectable delights such as buttermilk semolina tea sandwiches with goat cheese, lemon cucumber shrimp sandwiches, scones, shortbread cookies, and chocolate dipped strawberries.
