SODE Athletes Showcase Their Skills

Over nine days last month, more than 1,300 athletes from schools across the state participated in seven Special Olympics Delaware Basketball Skills Competitions. Either individually or in partnership with Unified Partners (peers without disabilities), athletes at all levels competed in dribbling, passing and shooting events. Special Olympics Project UNIFY activates youth around the country in an effort to develop school communities where all young people are agents of change — fostering respect, dignity and advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities by utilizing the programs and initiatives of Special Olympics.
