Scores of teams strolled through Wilmington’s parks and historic neighborhoods on Sunday in support of JDRF — the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Town Square Delaware was there too, keeping up with kids on Katie’s Crew and the Delmarva Power Walkers. Some 1,500 people turned out on the picture perfect day. The JDRF Walk for the Cure, which began at Rockford Park, has a long history of support by corporate sponsors like Wawa, Siemens, and Delmarva Power, and by families and friends of children and adults who have been stricken by the disease. This year’s Walk raised more than $250,000 for the JDRF.
