Aidan Donoho and Ty Brinker

The doubles team of Aidan Donoho and Ty Brinker brought home gold to Delaware this weekend, winning the American Platform Tennis Association 12-and-under boys championship Saturday in Paoli, Pennsylvania.

Donoho and Brinker, both of Wilmington, prevailed over a tough draw of players from around the country. Platform, or “paddle” tennis, as it is commonly referred, is a fast-paced, serve-and-volley game played outdoors on a small, wire-screen enclosed court with paddle-like racquets using largely the same scoring and rules as traditional tennis.

The Tower Hill School 6th grade classmates Donoho and Brinker have played in several regional tournaments this season, benefiting from the intrepid tutelage of Aidan’s father Chris Donoho, himself a national caliber talent. Click here for more.

Way to go boys!
