As the summer months draw near, read below for information on our area beaches, camps for kids this summer and a few events happening in Wilmington this May!
Wilmington is the perfect location to get away quickly in the warmer months, with an array of beaches all under a 2 hour drive. Take the car top down and head south along Route 1 and you can choose from the beaches of Lewes Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island or Ocean City (MD). Pack your towel and go east along Route 40 to the New Jersey beaches of Atlantic City, Longport, Ocean City, Sea Isle City, Avalon, Stone Harbour, Wildwood and Cape May. These beaches offer something for everyone! Sit all day in the sun, camp out at Cape Henelopen State Park, bike to the local farmers market in Rehoboth, slither down the water slides in Wildwood, take a boat ride along the bays in Avalon, shop until you drop in Stone Harbour, gamble the night away in Atlantic City and much more!
However you decide to spend your time this summer, we hope you will take advantage of all the local offerings in Delaware! Enjoy the unofficial start of summer and have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!
