For the 19th year running, the St. Patrick’s Day Society hosted their annual Communion Breakfast in Wilmington, in support of the St. Patrick’s Center, a non-denominational “oasis” providing food, clothing, transportation services and more to the city’s neediest. According to Society member Sean Healy, this year’s breakfast raised over $180,000 in support of the Center, a record-breaking amount that will help ensure St. Patrick’s continued works of hope and mercy on the East Side. Attendees included Bishop Francis Malooly, Senators Carper and Coons, Lt. Gov. Matt Denn, State Rep. Greg Lavelle, and Society members NCCo President Tom Kovach, State Rep. Helene Keeley, Congressman John Carney and Attny. General Beau Biden.
Also celebrating their favorite Irish saint, Wilmingtonians enjoyed the St. Patrick’s Parade on Saturday, March 10. Fantastic costumes and colors made this another winning effort!
